Guided meditation involves an instructor guiding you through various meditation techniques, while unguided meditation allows you to meditate on your own without any guidance.
The best time to meditate is whenever works best for you, whether that's in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
Think of mindfulness like this: it's all about being super present in whatever you're doing, without judging it. You're just fully in the moment, whether you're eating, walking, or just chilling out. Now, meditation, on the other hand, is like a toolbox of techniques to help you train your mind and reach certain mental states. It could be sitting quietly, focusing on your breath, or even doing a guided meditation. They both come from ancient traditions but nowadays, people use them in all sorts of ways to de-stress, focus better, find inner peace and cherish every moment with awareness.
The duration of a sound bath session can vary, but they often range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the preferences of the facilitator and participants.
While there are no strict requirements, it's highly recommended to bring along a blanket and at least one pillow. Lying on a yoga mat can be uncomfortable if you're not used to it, so having support for your knees and neck can greatly enhance your experience. A sleeping mask can help you block out any distractions, and having a bottle of water on hand ensures you stay hydrated. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat if you prefer.
During the sound bath session, you'll start by finding a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. The facilitator will guide you through a series of breaths, sometimes incorporating a body scan where you mentally check in with each part of your body, acknowledging any sensations and releasing tension with your breath.
Once settled, you'll be enveloped in the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls. These sounds will permeate your entire being, reaching every cell and inviting deep relaxation. It's a time to let go completely, allowing the vibrations to wash away any stress or tension, and to immerse yourself fully in the healing experience.
